BoomerBizTips July 2, 2013 - Where's Melodieann
July 02, 2013

Where's Melodieann? Not at her computer! Longtime subscribers know that my husband has some serious health issues. Unfortunately, he has struggling the past few months, which means I have been concentrating on him. When he is having a bad spell, it is all I can do to deal with him, the animals, the house, and maintain my business well enough to keep some cashflow coming in. Fortunately, he has rebounded again and I am once again able to focus on my friends. I thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Where else is Melodieann? Tonight I was on a fantastic webinar hosted by Brian Basilico. Brian and I met taking part in Felicia Slattery's new coaching progarm, 21 Ways To Make Money Speaking. Brian has written a book called It's Not About You, It's About Bacon: Relationship Marketing in a Social Media World. He says it's a "why to" not a "how to" book. All I know is that his webinar covered much of the material in his book and it was fabulous! I may even actually get on Facebook instead of just playing around with it - and that's a hard thing for a die-hard Twitter addict to say! If you have any questions about social media and relationship marketing, I suggest you check out his book. This month's giveaway will be a free copy, so stay tuned for details on how to win.

Speaking of giveaways, congratulations to Heidi Caswell (Connect Simply). Heidi won my last giveaway and is the recipient of Felicia Slattery's book 21 Ways to Make Money Speaking. Can't wait to see how you put it to use, Heidi. I look forward to hearing you speak very soon.

Where else is Melodieann? Well, I will soon be in Denver for jvAlert Live. Ken McArthur, longtime friend and mentor, is giving me an opportunity to speak. He is trying something new this year, adding some shorter segments to get more speakers in. Are you familiar with the TED Talks? Ken says these are like TED Talks on steroids! I am very excited to see my jvAlert family again!

In fact, I am so excited I have a proposition for you! Let's get together in person.

Yes, I mean one to one, you and me, face to face, two of the best!

There's just nothing like meeting face to face and talking about ways to work together when a person shares the same vision and goals that you have.

I know what it's like to be isolated. You feel like you are the only person who is going through the stress and strain of building a real business.

Face it, there aren't all that many people actually doing the types of things that you and I imagine when we sit down at the computer.

I know, it SEEMS like there are millions on the Internet, but try explaining your Internet business ideas with your neighbors some time. Even your relatives probably don't understand.

So let's get together.

We will talk one on one and figure out a way to make you at least a thousand dollars more than you have right now.

It's really not all that hard if you follow the examples of people that are already doing it every day.

I'm not talking about "pie-in-the-sky" either. There are plain, ordinary folks doing this stuff every day. The key is to be able to see exactly how those "real-life" projects work in the "real world." And to give you the opportunity to do so, I will take one lucky subscriber to jvAlert Live Denver as my guest. I will pay your registration fee to the event. Since I am traveling with a friend who is terrified to fly, I am driving from Rogers, Arkansas to Denver. If you live somewhere close enough to my route, I will pick you up and you can ride with us. Otherwise you will have to get to Denver on your own. And if you are female, you can also share our room. Sorry, guys, but that offer is not open to you. You will have to have a room of your own.

How to win? Email me and tell me what you would hope to achieve by going to jvAlert Live. The best response wins. And my friend, Terri, will be the judge.

Even if you don't win, you can still attend. Why should you be there?

Ken is a friend of mine, who sees the insides of "real life" projects every day. In fact, he is at the center of a group of people that work together in a regular "idea factory" of a place called jvAlert.

You would be amazed at the people that are in this group.

Ken actually arranges for these top-level people to work with you on YOUR projects and then they turn around and promote your products too.

Ken invited me to be a part of this event and I grabbed the chance right away.

But ...

So where does YOUR project come into this?

Ken has developed a very unique "Hot Seat" that is perfectly designed to get you feedback and even more crucial, exposure to people that can really make a difference for your project.

Here's the way it works ...

When you register for the event, you are given the opportunity to apply to be on the "Hot Seat."

The expert panel selects the best ideas and those ideas are assigned a spot on the "Hot Seat" schedule.

The presenter of the idea prepares a 15 minute presentation to pitch their idea to the "Hot Seat" panel of experts and all of the people who attend the event.

Then the fun begins ...

You get to listen in as our panel grills the person on the "hot seat" and picks their project to bits.

Then we turn right around and build it back up with ideas from the best minds in the business.

You KNOW you are going to pick-up some great ideas from this series whether you are in the "Hot Seat" or comfortably watching someone else squirm a little as these top-level professionals show you exactly (and specifically) how to take a starting idea and turn it into REAL money.

But, even more important than that, you and I can spend some quality time together one on one. I know that we can come up with ways to work together that will make this new year great for both of us.

If you have any questions on this, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm definitely going to be there, so let's not let this opportunity to get together pass by.

There's limited space, so don't wait.

Sign up now and then send me an e-mail and let me know that you are definitely coming!

See you soon!
