The very first network marketing company I was ever involved with was Amway. This was back in my college days, so that tells you how long they have been around. This also tells you they must be doing something right considering I have been out of college for 31 years!

Their Independent Business Owners Compensation Plan rewards you for selling products and for sponsoring others as Independent Business Owners who do the same. You earn income from:

- Retail markup on product sales to customers. - Monthly performance bonuses ranging from 3% to 25% of business volume depending on your monthly productivity. - Monthly and annual leadership bonuses and other cash awards and business incentives based on group performance.

The company is in the health and beauty market, and heavily promotes these products. That's a plus for business owners since many companies do no promotion of their own but leave it all to their associates.

Back when I was in the business, the support from my upline and the company was wonderful. Business owners I know now tell me it still is. In addition to the support you will receive from your sponsor, they provide you with world-class training, marketing, products, and customer support.

To create your own business, you need to register with them as an Independent Business Owner (IBO).

The registration establishes your own business and enables you to begin earning income through the Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan.

Why am I no longer involved with the company if it's that great? I was in college and back then network marketing was something you did until you got a "real" job. It helped pay my tuition which is all I wanted. When I left college for the Navy, I knew I had found my career. I was still young enough that I never thought to look ahead to the day I would retire from the Navy and need something else to do.

Amway is one of the largest and oldest network marketing companies in the world. And still one of the best.
